Burn Evolved Review 2024 | Effective Fat Burner or Scam?

0  comments

Burn Evolved caught my attention for its claims of having the ultimate, full-spectrum fat loss support formula. This is a bold statement, especially when it’s claiming to be better than the rest — which includes more popular fat burners like PhenQ and Capsiplex Burn. So, how well does this supplement actually perform? Let’s find out!

Burn Evolved

Overall Rating: 2.5/5

  • Burn Evolved lacks key ingredients like growth hormone enhancer L-Arginine and fat inhibitor Nopal Cactus.
  • Many of its components, including Coleus Forskohlii and Evodiamine, lack scientific evidence backing their weight loss benefits.
  • The supplement contains an unsafe high concentration of Chromium, leading to potential side effects such as headaches and insomnia.

What is Burn Evolved?

Burn Evolved is the premier fat-burning supplement by SCULPTnation. It promises to boost your metabolic rate so your body can shed excess fat faster. It also claims to reduce your hunger and cravings which can make dieting noticeably easier.

At first glance, Burn Evolved seems like a decent option with well-known ingredients like Cayenne extract, and L-Theanine. It also contains a balanced amount of Caffeine which is enough to show results but not too much to disrupt your sleep.

However, a closer inspection uncovers a major shortcoming in its formula. Burn Evolved is missing a growth hormone enhancer like L-Arginine which we see in abundance in other fat burners like Capsiplex Burn and PhenQ PM

The inclusion of L-Arginine is important because it boosts the secretion of growth hormone which, in turn, enables your body to burn fat during sleep. This process dramatically accelerates your weight loss progress.

With that aside, let’s see how the ingredients that are present in its formula perform:

Top Alternatives

  • Reduces the cravings for carb-filled snacks.

Capsiplex Burn

Overall Rating: 4.8/5

  • Can boost your workout performance 30 minutes after use.
  • Improves your progress during the cutting phase.
  • Increases the energy output of your system.

PhenQ PM

Overall Rating: 4.8/5

  • Enables your body to burn more fat during sleep.
  • Reduces cortisol to prevent weight gain.
  • Prevents you from craving snacks at night.

Ingredients

Burn Evolved enlists the help of 10 different ingredients. These include:

Gymnema leaf extract — 300 mg

Gymnema leaf supplementation can be an effective source of weight loss. A 2004 study tested its effectiveness on 60 moderately obese subjects between the ages of 21 and 50. After the eight-week test period, most test subjects showed an impressive 5-6% decrease in their body weight and BMI.

Alpinia Galanga root extract — 300 mg

Burn Evolved claims that it includes Alpinia Galanga because its consumption can boost mental alertness. While this claim is true, it has nothing to do with fat reduction. I also didn’t find any weight loss-related benefits of this ingredient — making its inclusion in Burn Evolved kind of unnecessary.

Coleus Forskohlii powder — 150 mg

Fat-burning supplements like Brun Evolved include Coleus Forskohlii under the assumption that it can help reduce body weight. The theory goes that Coleus Forskohlii intake increases the production of lipase and adenylate cyclase; enzymes that break down fat.

Unfortunately, there is no conclusive scientific evidence that backs these claims. Its lack of effectiveness was also confirmed in a 2005 study on obese women which showed how Coleus Forskohlii had zero effect on weight loss.

InnovaGreen — 100 mg

InnovaGreen is a patented formula that’s mostly composed of natural Caffeine extract. This makes it a fairly effective fat-burning ingredient as regular Caffeine intake can boost your energy expenditure. This — in turn — signals your body to compensate by burning more fat, thus accelerating your weight loss progress.

L-Theanine — 100 mg

L-Theanine does not have any direct weight loss benefits, but it can help you lose weight indirectly. Regular intake of this substance increases the secretion of the happy hormones; dopamine and serotonin. These hormones improve your mood and reduce the cravings for sugar-filled snacks that are a common cause of weight gain.

Cayenne fruit extract — 50 mg

Cayenne fruit extract contains a compound called Capsaicin, which is a well-known weight-loss ingredient. According to a 2007 study, Capsaicin intake can also boost the natural fat oxidation rate of your body. This also has the side benefit of boosting your energy levels, so you can spend more time in the gym.

That said, the 50 mg of Cayenne extract might not have enough Capsaicin to show noticeable results. A more optimal amount would be 100 mg as it is in other supplements like Capsiplex Burn.

Grains of Paradise — 40 mg

Grains of Paradise can activate the Brown Adipose Tissues (BAT). These tissues are responsible for keeping your body warm during cold conditions by regulating your energy output.

Grains of Paradise intake keeps the BAT tissues active at all times — increasing your energy expenditure. This, in turn, signals your body to convert more fat into energy which leads to noticeably faster fat metabolism.

Caffeine anhydrous — 30 mg

Caffeine anhydrous is natural Caffeine but without any water in its formulation. This also gives it the same benefits as natural Caffeine.

In addition to the benefits I’ve mentioned above, Caffeine intake can also boost your exercise performance. This allows you to lose weight faster by increasing the intensity and duration of your workout sessions.

Evodiamine — 20 mg

Burn Evolved claims that its Evodiamine content can activate TRPV1 receptors in fat cells, which increases the effectiveness of Capsaicin. But, according to a 2012 study I found on this subject, Evodiamine has no significant effect on the TRPV1 receptors in humans.

Chromium — 600 mcg

The most significant benefit of Chromium is that it can reduce the cravings for carb-filled foods. This makes dieting easier and prevents future weight gain.

One major issue I see with Burn Evolved is that it has too much Chromium. Experts suggest a daily limit of 200 mcg for this mineral which is exactly what we see in more popular supplements like PhenQ and PhenQ PM.

What we didn't find

I’ve already mentioned the lack of a growth hormone enhancer like L-Arginine in Brun Evolved, but that is not all.

Another component that I feel is missing is a fat inhibitor. A good example of this would be Nopal Cactus found in fat burners like PhenQ. Studies show that Nopal Cactus binds itself to dietary fat and prevents it from getting absorbed by your body. This prevents future weight gain and accelerates the results of your weight loss efforts. Moreover, I would’ve also liked to see a metabolism booster like Biotin (Vitamin B7) which is abundant in other fat burners like PhenQ PM. Biotin boosts the natural metabolic rate of your body — leading to noticeably faster fat reduction.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Has a lower price tag than its alternatives;
  • Its Caffeine content can accelerate fat reduction;
  • Vegetable-based capsules make it vegan-friendly;.

Cons

  • Many of its ingredients lack conclusive scientific evidence;
  • Its high concentration of Chromium can cause headaches and insomnia;
  • One of its ingredients is irrelevant to fat-burning supplements;
  • Doesn’t contain enough Cayenne fruit extract.
  • Under-dosed. Just one capsule a day doesn't contain enough of the key ingredients to make a difference.

Side Effects

SCULPTnation does not make any claim about the safety of its Burn Evolved supplement. From my analysis of its composition, I would not label it as safe for most adults.

  • As I’ve touched on before, my primary cause for concern here is its high Chromium content. Burn Evolved contains 1,714% of the recommended daily value (DV) and 300% of the daily maximum for Chromium consumption. This can lead to side effects like headaches, insomnia, and irregular heartbeats. Some reports even indicate more long-term issues like liver and kidney damage.

So, practice caution when using this supplement. If you experience any of these side effects, stop using Burn Evolved immediately. Also, if these adverse effects persist after a day, I suggest consulting your doctor immediately.

You should also stay away from this, and most other fat-burning supplements if you’re under the age of 18, pregnant, or nursing. If you are already taking medication for a major illness, consult your doctor before considering this fat burner.

Top Alternatives

If you’re on the hunt for fat burners that actually live up to their claims, check out the following alternatives. All three of these supplements include weight loss ingredients with definitive scientific evidence. Plus, each of them also has a unique benefit. For example, PhenQ is an all-rounder that enhances your weight loss efforts from almost every angle. Similarly, PhenQ PM allows you to lose excess weight while you sleep.

Some key features of these alternative fat burners include:

PhenQ

Overall Rating: 4.9/5

  • Accelerates the natural fat-burning rate of your body;
  • Prevents dietary fats from causing weight gain;
  • Reduces the cravings for carb-filled snacks.

Capsiplex Burn

Overall Rating: 4.8/5

  • Can boost your workout performance 30 minutes after use;
  • Improves your progress during the cutting phase;
  • Increases the energy output of your system.

PhenQ PM

Overall Rating: 4.8/5

  • Enables your body to burn more fat during sleep;
  • Reduces cortisol to prevent weight gain;
  • Prevents you from craving snacks at night.

Final Thoughts

I do not recommend Burn Evolved, and the reason comes down to its formulation. Going on an ingredient-by-ingredient basis, it has some promising aspects to it. As I mentioned in the beginning, it does include some well-known, effective ingredients like Cayenne, Caffeine, and Grains of Paradise.

Unfortunately, these good parts are bogged down by components like Alpinia Galanga that don’t have any relevance to weight loss supplements. Not to mention ingredients — like Coleus Forskohlii and Evodiamine — that lack scientific evidence for their benefits.

If you are in need of fat burners that actually work, I suggest considering one of the three alternatives I’ve mentioned above.
